I just received one report of a problem with EOM Route-2, Puckered Sphincter.

The route was loaded from the EOM Master GPX file.

This may be nothing more than an anomaly for one person. But just in case it's not, I would like to know ASAP so that I can try to fix it and get the file re-posted.

SO PLEASE CHECK THE ROUTES AND LET ME KNOW IF THERE'S A PROBLEM. I can't reproduce the problem myself, and like most of you, I'm scrambling to get the bike, the house, the kids and everything else ready for departure to EOM.

In other words... Wednesday will be too late!

:)

I guess I'm good. I can pull up the route on the gps, I can view the map (though detail sucks on the gps screen), and I can manually navigate through the directions.

I just reloaded everything a second time, no problems. Probably an isolated incident, but I do appreciate the possible heads-up from the user. Better safe than sorry.

I checked with the GPS and with RoadTrip (the new Mapsource for Mac). No problems I can see. What was the reported issue?

Jeff,

The routes all seem fine to me too. I have loaded them up onto a Streetpilot 2820.

By the way, loading on the older 2000 series Garmins is a bit different than on the Zumo. You can't just drop the GPX files into a GPX directory on the unit and expect them to self install. They don't. Instead I had to import the files into Mapsource and then use the Mapsource "send to device". When I did that with the .gpx master file the routes were a series of waypoints and viapoints with no details or times. The GPS then has to fill in the route details after it is transferred.

I found that I could import the .gdb (Ver 3) master file and it contained all of the route info including times, etc. So that may be a better option for those of us with Streetpilot 27xx/28xx's. Thanks for providing them with all the different formats.

The problem I have is with EOM2, only shows two waypoints. Probably just a fluke in translating it from MapSucks. Will try to reload it again.
If you are using a Zumo, don't forget that no matter how many times you copy the same file to the SD card or Zumo memory, it will present you with two sets of the same route names.

One set is from the backup file Zumo makes when you connect it to USB. The other set is from the GPX file you copied to the SD card or Zumo memory. Since both sets have exactly the same route names, it's impossible to know for sure which ones are the new ones. It's too easy (and just plain typical) to keep reloading the bad route file over and over.

My advice is to:

1. Delete the routes from ROUTES.

2. Hook up to USB and delete the file named "Archive.gpx" on the Zumo memory/drive. It will be in the \Garmin\GPX\ folder.

3. Go to the Tools menu, User Data and Import Data again.

This time you will be pulling the routes fresh from the file you copied.
