My way better half gets cold way too quickly when the temps drop a bit so I am looking for some good used heated gear for her. She is 5' 8" and weighs about 135. Anyone out there who had a spouse that changed her mind about riding?

You are navigating a pretty slippery slope there if she finds out that you wouldn't pop for new gear for her!

That's a true statement, so I am careful to not let her in on the secret. However, if the gear is as good as some say, then a slightly used apparel acquistion, at an appropriately discounted price, makes for good commerce. What think you?

My wife wouldn't give up her heated-gear if the Chippendale Dancer's were doing the asking....you may have trouble finding anything other than new

But, try Craigslist. Search in Google on this phrase: site:craigslist.org widder or site:craigslist.org gerbing or site:craigslist.org gerbing's

Ya, We got lots of Snow, finally warmed up, we had a couple weeks of -30 deg ****. Now it's getting up to the 20's during the day.

You don't have to go to 97th St to find "Used Lady's", But ones with heated gear are harder to find.

If you dint' find anything yet, check out...

I have the original ladies liner. I only turn it up a bit more than halfway even when it's freezing outside.

If I was to get one now, I'd pbly get the lower heat range one.

They're actually fitted for riding sport-touring bikes.

The one time I had it turned up a bit more than 3/4 on the Heattroller, I was on a cruiser and was just too lazy to stop and turn it down a bit.

the temps were in the low 30's and I was darned if I was going to make any more stops than I had to! Only 150 miles form home, and about 10:30 at night....

Because of the way I was sitting, I almost burned my ribs... ok, I almost burned the fat on my ribs!

Not the equipment's fault at all....

I. learned a few lessons... wear a thin vest as well as a **** underneath, (or lose weight, I'm working on that part! <LOL>)

2. If you actually feel the heat, rather than just comfortable, it's turned up too high.

3. Wear the liner, even if it's in the 70s out, just plug it in when you start to feel chilly. Much better to stay warmish than to get cold and try to get warm again.

4. Wear gloves with gauntlets... and a silk scarf or something similar around your neck and over your mouth if it's really cold... freezing air blowing down your neck or up your sleeves sucks big time!

Hope you find something she likes,

good luck

Mary
