It occurred to me the other day that the first time I ever saw a FJR in person was at a shooting event. It was the USPSA Area 3 even down in Missouri, maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Just made me start to wonder if there are any other IPSC shooters here on the forum?

used to be active in IPDA. Limited free time available, would rather ride than shoot. I guess i could practice shooting left handed while riding, just kidding.

I think something of this order may have been attempted out in some desert outwest somewhere by some of our illustrious hosts sometime in the past IIRC.

May even be a recurring event. I think a Barbie Doll was the unfortunate recipient of some ballistic projectiles according to one thread...

I was into IDPA, ESP expert, for about 3 years before getting back to bikes. Took a few classes from some of the “names”. Kind of burned out but do plan on getting back. When I do it will probably be IPSC production and/or limited ten.

About 3 years ago , I picked up a Kimber Stainless Gold Match in .45ACP for just such shooting. I shot 2 or 3 IDPA matches since then. Last fall I got hooked up with a club that shoots steel plates @ 10, 15, 20, and 25 yds for only $5 per match or gun. Not sure if they are sanctioned by IDPA or other. Gonna do more of that this year.

You can prolly guess by my name and avatar that I do Cowboy Action Shooting. Been at that game since 1997. We typically shoot 125 rds per match thru 2 sgl action revolvers ( Vaqueros for me) and a lever rifle, and a box or more of 12 ga in my dbl coach gun (sawed off barrels to 20 ins.) We dress up like real or imagined cowboys (or cowgirls) and shoot at steel targets and are electronically timed. Its a blast!!

The ladies enjoy it too. Every year in April, we put on a CAS clinic for new shooters. Last year I got my GF to come over and try it . She had so much fun that we went out and bought her a couple of Ruger Blackhawks in 44 MAG and a dbl holster rig. We now get to enjoy the sport together.

Most shooters use 45 Long Colt or 38 Spec. I started out way back with a Super Blackhawk in 44 Mag and just stayed with that caliber. Of course I reload...our cowboy loads are very mild...200 grain lead bullets @ about 750 fps. :cowboy:

I did IPSC and 3 gun matches for several years about 10 years ago. Was a Range Safety Officer. Got out of it mostly because of riding and it was getting too costly. When I started it was easy to shoot a fairly stock gun. But everyone was going to race guns and that seemed to take the fun out of it for me.

I do shoot an occaisional IDPA match for practice (carry conealed here in Texas) but haven't found a club I really like down here yet. Would like to do more of it.

Now with the L-10 and Production classes, I think the open guns are actually loosing some of their following. I don't own an open gun, but I do have to admitt they are fun. I made master class in L-10, before my son was born and I lost all free time.

I can knock a knats eyeball into its ass at 2000 yards 3 time before it hits the ground with my comped /magnaported GP100.

In my dreams :D

i don't shoot competitively, but am a firearms instructor for my district.

Went through the American Pistol Institute (Gunsight) course some years ago and was a combat pistol instructor. Haven't shot IPSC but would like to! The old time vs money vs family vs riding conundrum!
