A friend of mine has a set of wheels and tires for sale. I think the wheels are 15" The tires are 33 x 12.50. Reasonably priced at $600.00

I am wondering if they will rub in the front without "lifting" the truck.

Can't say for sure. I asume you have a 1/2 ton truck? 33 is pretty big for stock suspension. What's more important is the offset of the rim. Some stick out more than others.

If this guy is a friend, then just bolt one on the front and turn the wheel lock to lock to see.

 
S76 is spot on.

Be prepared to shake rattle and roll. The 33's prefer the 10" wide rim which usually causes as it has a more "negative" offset that some refer to as "deep dish". It widens the track and changes the bearing loads considerably. Many people I dealt with were unhappy with the application, especially if the intended use was primarily street. If you do go that direction prefer lathe turned aluminum rims.

 
Not to mention upgrading of gears for every 10% increase in tire height. Had a friend lift his truck, got the big rubbers and didn't listen to me about gearing. Ended up paying for new front and rear gears and new tranny!

 
Boots they're going to rub. Guy down the street tried the same thing. Didn't sound to nice when turning especialy when the road gets rough.

I say B.S. to the gearing change something else caused that problem, miss matched tire size more likely

31" is as big as you can go without lifting. You don't have to gear down but your performance will suffer big time if you don't. Plan on about $1000 per differential.
