Had it done in Asheville, NC about 15 years ago for periodic fast heart rate, ~200 bpm. Actually had it done twice about a month apart, they have to be careful not to sever all connections. No issues since and now ablation is a routine procedure.

You'll be right mate

WPW syndrome?

My daughter a year ago. She was back to riding horses only a week or two later, without the spells of breathlessness and the racing heartbeat.

good to hear, after 2 cardio versions(stop/restart the heart) im getting it done Friday.hopefully it works,if something goes wrong smile when you think of me.i was fine till I met barb.lol

I had the cardio version for atrial fibrulation. It worked for a couple monthsand they took me off the coumadin. Then I had a stroke. The cardioligist said I'll live just as long either way so I have a slow and not so regular heartbeat and take rat poison every day.

I had a double ablation for both afib and atrial flutter last summer and am back to running and racing. I'll never set an PR's again but at age 56 those days are behind me.

Just had coffee yesterday morning with a friend of mine who had this done for irregular (fast) heartbeat. He said that it was easy peasy and he had no ill after effects except removing the tape from his man parts.

He did that once as well but it didn't work hence the ablation surgery... post up when you get home and let us know you're okay!! :)

My Father in-law had that procedure a few weeks ago. He was back to his normal rate the next day.

He said the worse part was some stuff he had to swallow so they could had pictures. He's 90.

im alive, went well,in room for 4 hours, came out to recovery and heart went crazy to 166 beats and wouldn't slow down, put me back under and shocked me and since has been hovering around 95,not bad.live to ride another day I say.just taking it easy, gettin stronger everyday.off to Kauai in 2 weeks for some more relaxing.thanks everyone for asking bout me.peace out !

I have had chronic AFIB for decades, but the cardio docs say it is not the type that can be reliably solved by RFCA. I track the progress made now and again, and hopefully soon they'll have a procedure for me that'll get me off of blood thinners and beta-blockers.

I was hoping getting off of wheat and grains would make it go away like it has for so many other folks.
-- It did actually calm it down a little.
-- Every year I have to do a battery of tests to requalify for an FAA Class II med cert.
-- This last time (after being off of wheat for the last two years) the Doc did say it was calmer and steadier, but that the FAA would still see it as AFIB.
-- I have noticed I don't have the heart-pounding flare-ups anymore,... just a benign AFIB, as the Doc calls it.
