Anyone Have Both Cruise Controls?

I have the Audiovox onboard and it runs like a champ.

But what I noted is that when you are in single lane moving traffic that the speeds vary a lot, and setting the electronic is almost a waste of time because you are constantly adjusting it.

I wouldn't mind adding a throttlemeister or equivalent just to friction lock the throttle and ease the burden off my right hand. This way an occasional throttle update would suffice in these traffic situations.

Anyone have both?

I have both. A throttle lock on the bike and an Audiovox in the box in my garage. I couldn't see sacrificing the space for the servo mechanism so there it sits. Does this help any? Once I unsprung the throttle return spring, even the throttle lock wasn't as necessary. So, to offer an opinion, I prefer the throttle lock in almost all situations to the idea of an electronic cruise control. I guess I just don't cruise at steady speeds much.

Yep...I have both. I use the Audiovox for the long, open road and as you know it works great. I also use the throttle lock for the quick fix when I need to scratch my itch, adjust something or other...or just like flipping it on for a quick break.

I have the Audiovox and the Throttlemeister. I never use the Throttlemeister since installing the Audiovox. I have even added a washer to space the Throttlemeister out a little so it can't engage (it seemed to be dragging a little). I do also use a Kuryakyn throttle boss around town though.

I need one right away. I bought some aftermarket one at Cycle Gear, but it didn't work. It was suppose to be for single cable Yamaha. It wasn't a Vista Cruise. So today i'll see if Road rider has one.

P.S. Motorgod...........that is some little honey you have. Is she trying to get your FJR from you?

I have the Audiovox installed on my '04, ABS along with the Throttlemiester and also a throttle rocker. I can't think of anything else to put on the Throttle.

Seriously, I go back to the Throttlemiester (from the Audiovox) when I need to rest the wrist and while riding in a group or in heavy traffic. Works for me!

I had a Vista Cruise on my Wing even though it had factory cruise.

That same Vista Cruise is now on my FJR and I have an Audio Vox waiting to be installed.

Had the Audiovox on my last FJR and missed the Vista Cruise. So far I've only got the Vista Cruise on the new bike but I'm going to add the Audiovox soon. Vista Cruise for quick breaks and adjustments; Audiovox for cruising the Istaes.

Yes, I have both and use them both. Also use a throttle rocker.

Vista Throttle lock for short stints to drink from the camelback, fuss with the XM, or just to cruise for a minute or so to rest the hand. Not so great for thboe highway (looses speed, can't handle hills)

Audiovox is great for the highway as it keeps your speed steady and is easy to nudge up or down. Just like a cage. I'm reasonably sure I would go through the major hastle of installing it again, even though I only use it for 30-60mile highways to/from the good riding areas. It's also great for long distances to keep your pace and minimize speeding tickets. I ran mine for about 2 hours straight one early morning across OH and IN. Never would my hand be so fresh without it on that type of a (boring) ride.

have a throttlemeister and a throttle rocker on my 05. I do not like the meister and almost never use it. It is difficult for me to turnoff with my right hand. Usually turn it off using both hands. the throttle rocker works great for me. I have never had a complaint about the throttle spring tension. I ride lots of miles so maybe my wrist is stronger than some.
