I have been watching the auction site where i was told my crashed FJR would be listed, but I cannot even bid on the bike when it comes up for auction, since I don't have a license. To me it would be worth a decent chunk of change to be able to buy my old bike back for parts, or a similar bike like this one that is currently up for auction:

Hell, since there is no opening bid, you might be able to pick up a set of wheels for cheap.

Anyone here have a salvage license, where they could bid on something like this.

Link is dead, I guess because you have to have a login to see anything. I can get to the top page of the site, but nowhere else.

Ignore this post, see Trigger's following post for the reason.

Right now there are 146 bikes up for auction. Trigger's FJR is on the second page, dunno how long this link will be good: Link to page 2. Direct link: Trigger's Bike.

Just to be clear, the FJR in the link IS NOT my bike. My is extremely similar, but that isn't mine. I was told that mine should be listed in the next few weeks.

I take it there aren't any members with a salvage license. Too bad, the bike shown on the link only has 24 hours left until the auction closes, and the price is only at $850.00. I guarantee there is more than that in usable parts on that bike.

Mine still has not made it onto the auction block.

Trigger, I would talk to a MC/dealer, and see if they would be able to purchase a bike from a salvage yard, and then buy it from the dealer, providing he won't (go nuts and) add any charges.

I confirmed that the independent shop I use can buy the bike, but they are less than thrilled about doing so, and I have to believe the amount they are going to charge me is going to reflect that. Still, it is worth looking into when my bike hits the auction block.

The link will be dead real soon, if it isn't already. But for those of you who may have looked that the wrecked bike that was in the link, it sold for $2525.00

My bike had almost the identical damage and miles, so I would guess it will sell for about the same amount, which is more than I am willing to pay to get her back. Time will tell.
