I'll be taking a work-related class at the Manchester Grand Hyatt May 8-14th.

I work for the State and they will not pay for any mileage or parking expenses for motorcycles. The Hyatt charges $40 PER NIGHT for parking and I'm not willing to eat that expense.

I shouldn't need access to the bike during my stay as there shold be plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance.

If you are staying downtown there are 5 free motorcycle spaces at the corner of 4th and market. Plus, the spaces are in front of Hooters. I visit there often. I don't know why. :dribble:

there are lots of forum members in SD wakey wakey guys........
"...wakey wakey..."? Krikey, mate... :biggrinsmiley:

Feeger,

I'm fairly far north or where you are staying (>45 min). But if it gets down to the wire for you with no other solutions, you can PM me and we might be able to gin something up.

Anytime I've been downtown to any of the hotels (Hyatt, Marriott, etc) I have not paid to park my motorcycle. The only place was at the convention center 'cuz there was a person standing at the gate to make sure they collected.

The Marriott next door (1st bld to the south of the Hyatt) has self parking, and there is underground parking with plenty of places to fit a bike into (we've had a number of company meetings there). Parking staff has not minded my doing this.

My recommendation -

Drive to the Hyatt and see if you can't pull into the parking on a m/c without paying. if not, pull up to the front of the Hyatt, take all your stuff off the bike and check in. Tell the valet staff you'll be back to park it elsewhere. Then, with just your helmet on, ride over to the Marriott and park underground there. Then walk towards the bay, back to the Hyatt and you are all set

The marriott parking I'm referring to is under the Marriott convention rooms (the small building betwee the hyatt and the marriott closer to the road than the bay

PM me with your phone number if you want me to walk you thru the exact spot (good images on Google maps)

Thanks for the reply and tip about the Mariott, I can clearly see it on the Google maps satellite view.

I found a place to keep the bike, but it's 8 miles away. I'll try your suggestions and will keep the other place as a backup plan.
