My dealer has two 07 FJR1300's left; 1 each manual and electric shift. He offered me either bike at his cost saying he didn't want to pay interest on them over the winter. The riding season is winding down here in Michigan so this may be a legit deal. I would prefer to buy used and let someone else take the depreciation but he will also take an ATV I have in on trade. He was out of the office today but promised figures on Monday.

So, does anyone know the true dealer cost so I can tell if he's shooting straight with me?

Send a message to lotecredneck on this board. He's a Yammy dealer down here in Texas named Tony, and would probably be willing to help you out.

I bought an 07 manual from my long time dealer buddy for 11,800. He said it was 100 over...

I paid $11,900 out the door (+TTL in my state... only 3 miles away) for my crated '07, WITHOUT haggling. And with panels swapped with an AE. And cash, so no financing profit either.

My guess would be dealer cost is about $11,500 at the most, or this dealer was really desperate to sell this thing in April. Or maybe bikes are like cars, where they get an extra 'holdback', which is usually an additional 3% profit. That'd bring the net cost around my figure. I'm curious to know now.

I think the dealer cost is a bit lower than 84% of MSRP.

When I bought my non-ABS '04 from D&H Cycle I paid $9999 for a $11,599 MSRP bike. They were selling the ABS model for $10,799 (MSRP $12,599).

9999 / 11599 = 0.862

10799 / 12599 = 0.857

800 / 1000 = 0.80 (Actual cost ratio I'd guess)

I would guess that the dealer cost is closer to 80%. D&H was likely making about the same $ on each model.

9999 - (11599 x 0.80) = $720

10799 - (12599 x 0.80) = $720

Yep, bikes like cars have holdbacks. Typically 3% - 5%.

$11,629.00 plus 6% MI sales tax was what dealer offered me but I found an absolute mint 06 with 11k on the clock for $8,250 instead :yahoo:

My 07 I got a couple of weeks ago was in the cycle trader for $10,999 for the manual shift, plus taxes, etc. (new) I've seen alot of advertisements for the AE model really discounted off MSRP. I guess they are trying to get rid of them and not pay the interest. I just know it was to good of a deal to pass up.This is in Atlanta, Ga, but we still got alot left in our riding season too. There is a wholesale dealer in Atlanta that runs year round pricing on FJR's. The A model as $12,200 most of the year.

Did you actually paid that? If yes, it was a heck of a bargain for a '0' mile bike. Most dealers quoting those low figures tack on junk fees (freight & assembly) over that. HATE that practice, by the way. It's like selling you a car, then charging you for the tires. Geez. But now it's a sellers market, especially in northern states, where the riding season is pretty much over. Later gang.
