Anyone here on the forum live in or near Salinas? I am trying to purchase a wheel vice for my lift and they're made in Salinas! The short story is I'm trying to get the vice to a relative in Portland and save a few bucks at the same time! So I'm starting here. Thanks, Mark. By the way the fellows name is Robert Haas and he does nice work!

No need for help! A relative from Los Gatos will pick up for me. I didn't realize how close Salinas was to them? If anyone is looking for a scissor lift wheel vice I recommend this fellows work! I came across him on the South Bay Riders forum! 150 US for a very well made vice.

Got a link or a user name from that forum? Can't search that forum without signing up and just want to check it out without doing that.

Not sure if this the thread: https://www.southbayriders.com/forums/threads/135614/ I know Robert Haas personally and can vouch for his quality of work as well as his quality of personality. He is a total stand up guy.
Thanks Tyler, I came upon Robert and his work while surfing the net looking for a wheel vice. I have only seen his work via the internet but in my communication with him he seems like a very nice person, which you have just confirmed! I must say the design he has used in his vice looks very superior to anythng else I have seen for more than three times the amount he is charging? I can't wait till it's on my lift table.

Yeah it's kind of known by the local community down here that the quality of his work is far superior to many things you can buy in a store... hence why they call things "OverHaased" because he goes above and beyond the call of duty. He's also one of those people who unselfishly gives his time and energy to others to help them out. He has worked on many of my bikes in the past and refused any sort of payment (although I got sneaky and managed to pay for lunch once without him knowing... :D  ). He runs a glass shop in Salinas and has a section of his workshop set up for bike maintenance as well as creating items like this wheel vice among other things. B)

For sure the next time I'm down your way I will stop by and have a chat with him! My aunt is arranging to pick up the vice for me and I'm hoping to have my niece in Portland bring it up to the "Great White North", when she and her family come home for Christmas! Tyler keep those ride reports coming, your pictures and writing let me look forward to next year when the weather here improves. Thanks, Mark
