I've got a friend looking at a used late model ('03) VFR Interceptor. He's got a new woman in his life who wants to ride with him...but not on the back of his R1! He's looking for a sporty tourer for 2-up, but I don't think he wants to jump into something in the price range of an FJR @ this time. Aaaaaaanyway, without giving me a sermon about how I should talk him into an FJR, I just want to know if anyone has any personal 2-up touring experience with the late model VFR. I'm sure I could go to a VFR forum, but they'd likely tell me that everything is roses and buttercups. Anybody???

The only thing I've heard is the VTEC system operates kinda like and on/off switch at 7 grand - in other words, hit 7 grand and hang on... Some gripe about the heat from the under seat cans, but it seems everyone carps about heat these days...

Had a very nice 02 VFR for about a year anf I loved riding it one up but my wife was not comfortable on the back. My plan was to keep it for my quick little solo rides and do the longer and 2 up rides on the FJR. However having 2 kids in college made the $$$ decision to sell the VFR. It was a great little bike tho, I loved to ride it solo.

I had an '04 VFR before I got the FJR. Very nice bike and like TWN said the VTEC is nice.

While better than an R1 for comfort. I think his wife will be uncomfortable for touring...
