Anyone repainted your FJR?

Just ordered new 06 FJR1300A. I just don't like the Blue color. Anyone has a good recommendation in So Cal for repaint job for FJR...

By the way, this Site rules! I was debating between ST1300, R1200RT and FJR1300 for last a year or so. This forum gave me a clear direction which bike was best for me. Thank you all especially Warchild....

Any reputable body shop can do it. The issue is going to center on how much of the disassembly you want to do. Your local dealer may be able to point you toward a bike painter. One of the Sacramento riders repainted his '03 (after a nasty lowside)....and it looks really great in R-1 red. One of the Sacto dealers new of a guy who paints bikes in his garage, so that saved him some money. He pulled the body parts himself.

IIRC, FJR tech has invaluable info on removing the nose piece, which is the most difficult part to get off. Now all you have to do is be prepared to "write the check"!

I had my 2003 converted to a Euro 2002 scheme, very happy with it, just bag and mark all the fasteners when you take it apart, and don't force anything.

'group flaming' may occur if you paint it 'Mary Kay Pink', 'Rapstar Cranberry Purple', 'Electric Metallic Green' or any Chromaflair color....

That red looks great. I want my bike to be different. All my current bikes are police spec bikes such as R1100RTP and Kawasaki KZ1000P. Maybe I will paint FJR like my BMW RTP. I just don't like silver or blue color. Anyone know a good paintshop in socal?

It's on my list, but not a priority. A pc3, ohlins, and valve rebuild are much higher.

and by the way... why does every one else keep the silver mid-panel? The bike flows soooOOO much better when the mid color matches the rest of the bike!

I mean really, isn't this the sexiest FJR you ever seen!! (minus the turnsignals)

I debated pulling them, but they are the ONLY reflectors left on the bike, and I didn't want some drunk TN redneck to run my bike over at the campgrounds...

And I didn't want the black panels to flake off in 3 months!

Sure! A tip-over messed up the right-side fairing and saddle bag. Had them fixed and repainted.
