I changed to this combination last thursday the ride home 60mph and less was ok. The next mournig left for Arkansas and the vibration was so bad at 70 and above I stoped and had the tires externialy balanced. (Kudos to https://www.yamahasportscenter.com/ in Longview 100 miles from home, they stoped what they were doing and got me back on the road) After they balanced them the ride was much better but still not as smooth as the old tires I took off. I have talked to many people who have ran the dynabeads and love them, but are any of you runing them with the mich pilot roads(not 2s)? The reason I ask is the inside of the pilots had little square indentions from maybe mold castings where as the Bridgestones where smooth on the inside. The only thing I came up with when searching delt with the pilot road 2 and dynabeads and I don't know what the inside of that tire looks like. Now I have both the beads in them as well as the lead weights on them. Any help would be greatly appretiated.

If you think the beads are causing the problem, then you should remove the beads and have the tire rebalanced properly. Putting lead weights on AND Dyna beads kinda defeats the purpose doncha think? The beads will be working to counteract the lead weights and the mass of the wheel.

Go back and reread my post. I was on a trip and the external lead made the diffrence between completing the trip and having a great weekend or turning around and coming home. The ride did smooth out with only a slight vibration above 70. Yes I do think if you still have to run lead it defeats the purpose of the beads, I don't intend on leaving the dynabeads and lead on them. Having changed three things at once, tires, beads and stems if someone had two of the three and was not having the problem that would be my first move. As it is I will probably start with removing the beads and seeing if they can be completly balanced with lead if so, then that was the problem if not then i will remove the stems if they still don't balance it would have to be the tires. I just thought that if someone had had the same problem that they might could save me a few steps in the elemination process. I really don't think the problem is with the beads unless the little divits that I discussed in the earlier post has something to do with it. We made sure not to use to much lube putting the tire on so I don't think the beads are clumping. Again any help would be greatly appretiated.

The only factor I see that wasn't mentioned is during the time that the wheel was running unbalanced, could have done a lot of skipping and wore it in odd places....FYI :dribble:

I didn't think of that, but they would have to be very small they were only ran a little over 100mi before ext balancing. We then put a little over 1100mi on them after that. We were riding some twisties so I was looking at my tires at almost every fuel stop, the only thing i noticed is that the sides were getting plenty of wear. :)

I'd dump the magic beads & properly balance . . . JMO

I may have to do just that. But I have never talked with anyone who had used the dynabeads and did not like them. I do like the looks of the wheel with no lead on it. But i like a smooth riding bike better.
