While I've not had to use it, I take it along w/ me on the road. Great service you're offering here...keep it up.

Thanks for lookin' out for the rest of us,

:clapping: :clapping:

Yes, and no. I have used it to the point where I highlight names/numbers in areas where I plan to travel and, if something happens, those will be the calls that I make.

Fortunately, I haven't needed it.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to meet all the good people willing to add their name to the list.

Another thing I do is leave a copy at home. If something were to happen and I'm at a remote place, my wife could look at the list and possibly find someone relatively close.

Yet another example of 'better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it'.

I haven't said it lately, but, thank you for your efforts in pulling it together.

Ditto. I carry the list w/ me but (knock on wood) have not needed it.

I probably need to get an updated copy though.

As others have said, I really appreciate you pulling this list together...it provides a "peace of mind."

Same here, it goes where I go. As much ground as many of us cover on these bikes, it's a testimony to their overall dependability that as of yet the list seems to be more of a safety net than anything. Thanks for putting it together. It only needs to have to be used once to make it worthwhile.

BP,

As a result of this post another half dozen names have come in. I will send out an updated version on the weekend.

You are all more than welcome. The list helps me too. I am off to NC/TN in a few weeks and I will defintely have the list in my tank bag.

I consider the list to be kind of like rain gear....bring it along and you probably won't need it....Thanks for all the hard work associated with it.

gypsy when are you going to TN & NC? I'll be in that area 10/14-10/17 staying in Tellico Plains TN, there to ride the Cherohala, the Dragon and if time permits the snake.

I'll carry the list w/me as well.

donald I am not going until later in October. I am staying at the Deals Gap Motel from the 26th - 30th. What is the Snake? I went down last year and rode the area in July but it was too damn hot for me. I am from the frozen climes!! :D

What is the Snake? :D gypsy
Gypsy,

That's US 421 near Shady Valley, TN. Quote from motorcycleplayground.com

"At the intersections of US 421, Hwy. 91, and Hwy 133, the Shady Valley Country Store is one of Johnson Counties oldest continuous businesses. First established in the 1920s, the present location was built in 1956 and purchased by present owners Carroll and Peggy Long in 1998. The “store,” as it is called by local riders, has the distinction of being the epicenter of motorcycling in the Northeast Tennessee area. It boasts 489 curves within a twelve-mile radius. No matter what kind of bike you ride, this is a great place to stop and rest, meet the friendly locals, and trade stories with other motorcycle enthusiasts."

You'll love it :D

As for your original question, I've not used your list but it's good to know it's there. Thanks for your continuing efforts!

@ Gypsy

The Snake is aka Shady Valley. It is Hwy 421 that runs from Mountain City, thru Shady Valley, TN and over towards Bristol Motor Speedway. It was a favorite at EOM.

Shoot me a PM when you're coming thru this area (I live in Johnson City, TN). I can give you directions or I'll meet up w/ you somewhere and ride The Snake w/ you. I'm sure if it's a weekend, SlapnPop might ride along as well.

And, thanx for the updated FJR Assistance List...never leave home w/out it.

EDIT: I'll be on the road 10/16 - 10/23. If you need directions during that time, post a note on the forum and someone will be happy to coordinate your travel plans into Shady Valley.

Gypsy,

I belive the "snake" Donaldb is talking about is TN421 in Shady Valley TN...well worth the ride if you are coming down from the north. We rode it during EOM and the temperature was actually pretty pleasant because of the mountains.

I guess I have to learn to type faster!

I just happened to go thru the Forum as Gypsy posted his question... :)

..and I still remember that great ride with yourself, Mike-H and V_Max03 in the area. Awesome....

I'm sure Gypsy will enjoy riding with you and Slappy.

I am not leaving Nova Scotia until 10/23 so won't be in your neck of the woods until some time later. I would like to meet up if time and circumstance permit. Always nice to have a knowledgable guide.

Haven't needed it yet.

Hey Gypsy,

anyway you can add the revision date to the title? I'll bet I have all the copys on my various computers and it would help to make sure which is the latest.

+1 not needed it yet... happy to be on the list... happy to carry the list with me...
