One of my kids gave me a powerbuilt 1500 for xmas. Usually I used the centerstand and a car jack with a 2x4 jig for wheel/shock/fork work. There was some forum talk in 06 about the Powerbuilt/sears 1500 being used for the fjr but the results seemed inconclusive (krashdragon you there?)

Given that we have several bikes in the family (FJR, FJ, YZF, R1, VFR, R6, plus a few projects) maybe they are setting up my garage for future considerations eh? I'll know for sure when they buy me a tire changer!!!

Any experience/tips with this lift? :)

Wish I could help you out Pierre. I've got a crappy tire lift I bought years ago (BTW: they were recently on sale for $49!) that I've never tried on the FJR. Worked great on my old Honda and Kawi though.

Probably this spring though. Got an extended maintenance session queued up cleaning & lubing everything up. I'd like to change the fork oil as well.

I have one of a similar design called a "Powerlift" and there are others on the forums who have similar lifts. It works fine though the FJR is not as stable as a typical cruiser with a tube frame under the engine.

Though it's easier for me to get the floor jack for removing the front wheel, I sometimes use the "Powerlift" and will use it for removing the fork tubes, etc. Just be aware that the FJR is a little "tippy" when on that kind of lift. I've never had an issue but I do use the tie-downs to stabilize it if I also have the rear wheel off the ground.

Merry Christmas.....Enjoy the new tool.
