Are the 2019 and 2018 FJRs the same bike?

Looking for a new FJR. To me, the 2018 and 2019 look identical right down to the same flat blue paint.

Can this be true?

Speaking of paint, I don't like the flat blue. How much work is it to peel the tupperware and tank off of the bike and repaint? (said another way, I'll pull the plastic and take the bits to a painter if I can do it without breaking off the fastener bits and pieces).

Thanks

Don't believe there is any difference between '18 and '19.
Stripping the plastic is not trivial, but is doable. I've done it more than once. No tabs were broken, it all went back without issue. I did take my time, and lots of photos.

Side fairing removal posted here.

For what it's worth, I think the 2016 and 2017 are also the same -assuming you are looking at the "ES" version. If you can find a new (old stock) one at a dealer somewhere or a lightly used one somewhere, you can get a (gloss) cobalt blue for 2016 or raven for 2017. Matte finishes are not for everyone but I can't imagine that the cost to repaint is worth it. Look at Matt's detailed model comparison matrix here:

Not sure how I did it but I posted and somehow quoted my post in a reply when I was actually intending to make a minor edit!
