What the others have said have merrit (except for the name calling and finger pointing) and ergos DEFINITELY play a big factor. I too was having simular problems and noticed that I was struggling to keep the throttle open.

How big is your hands? I ask because the FJR has a really small handle bar grip. My hands are XXL-XXXL and I not a heffty boy, just big hands (and feet, size 13.5). So here are the cheap mods I tried and have made a significant differentin the comfort level on my 06 FJR AE:

* Released the throttle return spring tention (search the board for further details)

* Purchased Grip Puppies $7.50 - not only do they give a cushy feel, dull the road buzz but they have increased the diameter of the handle bar grips significantly, allowing my big hands to grip the bars much better!

These two mods have helped ME a great deal and were cheap to do and also are easy to undo if needed (except the throttle spring mod which once done, you won't want to undo).

So if there are any Yamaha reps lurking out there, listen to this: You have made good improvements to the handle bars, but there still not there yet! Take a look at a BMW K1200GT's bars and get'r done right. The bike is almost perfect. IMHO
