Looking at getting an FJR Bike night started in Metro Atlanta. If your in North Georgia please vote in the poll and post up any ideas or suggestions that you have.

Here are my initial thoughts:

Monthly or Bi-Monthly

Maybe alternate locations (ex: 1st Tuesday of month-NW, 3rd Wednesday of the month-NE)

Meet time 7pm-Flexible

If you want to hang-out, grab some food and take off, fine.

Or you can show up eat and hang out later, also fine.

Or just show up, hang out and take off.

Primary purpose: Meet other FJR owners and make new friends. Maybe create some ride plans or find a riding partner that shares your riding style.

Let's hear your ideas and get something rolling. Lot's of new Georgia Owners around. If your lurking and haven't joined the forum. Join and let us know your thoughts.

Thanks,

JW

I voted, where's my sticker? :)

Jwilly, thanks for getting this started. As for destination, if in the cobb/kennesaw area, I'd reccomend, Baileys off of Barrett prkwy. it's pretty much 21+, so no kids running around, the food is great, the waitresses are smoking hot and they also have MC parking right up front.

One thing that might be a drawback for some is that because it's basicly a bar at night, smoking is allowed. I smoke, so it's fine with me, but I know many have issues with it so I felt it should be known. The smoking thing is not a desiding factor for me, I need to quit anyway.

Never been to Bailey's. I will have to check that out. Glad that some people are showing some interest! :)

Thanks to those who sent PM's. Don't be afraid to throw out other suggestions for possible venue's.

Dang, jwilly, not many posts here. I would take that personally.

Damn, I thought I was finally going to meet the kooky six flags guy :)

Seriously though, I think it might be more along the lines that there may not be that many of us on the board from this area. I certainly haven't seen many out on the roads. Then again with today's temps, I was prollie the only ***** riding mine.

I think is a good idea. Mondays or Tuesdays are OK! Sorry if I responded late but I have been quite busy at work. Let me know when and where...

Hmmmm....weekdays are kinda tough for me. I actually have to be at work by 07:00 in the AM which means I gotta leave here by 06:00 which means I gotta go to bed early every night. <sigh>... damn I hate getting old.... :angry2:

BUT....I always have to work two weekend days a month and get a day off during the week....I usually go for Wed. off....so Tuesday night it is, although I can ask for just about any mid week day off, so I'm flexible...

Tuesday night is bike night at Hooters in Hiram!! At least it was last year. Haven't been this year. Might be bike night at other Hooters too.

To be honest I don't mind if we just join in on an existing bike night if you guys have a preference. Here's my thing, a few of the bike nights that I have been to in ATL were either young gun sportbike riders or the harley crowd. Conversations about how many times I crashed this month doing stoppies or how freakin loud my new chrome tractor is aren't my cup of tea?

Just my $.02

Long work day's on week days so any day is as good (or bad) for me. Not sure I can make it on a regular basis but I'd be up to breaking the evening groceries/dinner routine from time to time. I'm in the Gwinnett area.

During the week is a kitchen pass for me, but better than weekends. I voted for northwest so I don't have to ride through town. Marietta is on my way home, so, that would be sweet!

And let me just say this 100degree bull$hit with 80% humidity sucks. I gave up and took the cage the last 2 days. When Capt. Herb says "Just stay off I-75 South" --- well....

The family and I just had dinner at the Quaker Steak and Lube at Arbor PLace Mall. I picked up a couple "Full Throttle" magazines. According to them Tuesday night is bike night at Hooters in Hiram and Wednesday is bike night at Hooters in Douglasville and Kennesaw.

Of course if you REALLY want to see an impressive bike night the next time you travel up north, the original Quaker Steak and Lube in Sharon, PA has some AWSOME bike nights. I went to one and there was every kind of bike you could think of there. Even had an old Vincent or two! There's an aerial pic hanging in the QSL here of one bike night in Sharon where they had over 4,000 bikes. Also said the record was over 6,000. :dribble: I dunno how a small town like Sharon can attract that many bikes. I'm not that great with crowds but it *was* impressive.

hmm..just found the Hooters add later in the mag and it says the Hiram bike night is on Sundays. I know it used to be on Tuesday but maybe they moved it since Double Vision also has bike night on Tuesday in Hiram.

OK....so it looks like the voting has died down....and it looks like the the majority voted for Wednesday in Kennesaw...so...when is the first get-together??????? If I leave from work I can get there by about 3:30-4:00 PM..... :yahoo:

of course I'll have to leave by 8:00 PM :angry2:

I honestly thought there was more than 4 FJR owners in Metro Atlanta? I will work on putting something together and we'll see who shows up. Maybe a door prize or scandly clad women will do the trick? :p

Jason, has this fizzeled or is it still in the works? I might be bikeless right now, But I still wouldn't mind meeting everyone. Besides, I'm running out of folks to gross out with the road rash. :)

No I'm planning on getting something started soon. I'm traveling for work for 12 days so I haven't had a chance to do much with this yet. I will be back home next Sunday and will get something rolling.

Hope your doing well.
