Thanks to jwilly for setting this up. It was nice to put faces on the forum names. :)
And this, after actually seeing me.

Where did you guys end up at? I guess I sent my cell # too late and never heard from you. Was there looking around but had no way to recognise anyone. Oh well....maybe next time...
I was the good looking one surrounded by the not-so-good looking ones.

I am sure jwilly will be posting pics soon.

Who belonged to the FJR parked on level 4 of the parking garage on the other side of the CNN building? My wife noticed it on our way in and had to stop and look at it as we were going down the stairs. She wanted to check out the top case. She wasn't inpressed with how the case looked on there. "Ruined the lines of the bike." I pointed out that they *are* removable. Also pointed out that I could get someone with some fabrication skills to make me a mount and with a little silver paint could use the case off my old Venture. I'm not sure she was enthusiastic about that idea either. :nea:

So, how'd everyone like the show? Other than a lot of literature, all I came out with was a diecast model of an 06 FJR. Not the same year or exact same color as mine but as close as I'm likely to find. The wife surprised me yet again by showing some serious interest in that little pop up camper that was on display. (we could also tow it behind the Miata!) Plus, I think she "tried out" more bikes than I did.

I think I've finally worn her down enough for her to actually take a riding course. I keep telling her that she would be much more comfortable on her own bike. At the very lease I would hope that going thru a riding course would get her to stop beating on my back everytime we lean into a good curve. At only 5 feet tall she does have some limitations in what she can ride though. :D

I also tried on some riding pants to go with the jacket I bought a couple weeks ago at the other show. According to the size chart I looked up on the 'net they should have fit 50 to 55 inch waist. I must have gained about 300 lbs overnight then because I couldn't get them on. <sigh>... I've GOT to loose some weight. hmm....how's this for diet motivation....If I loose weight my FJR will go even FASTER!!

Well I found the prices in the show to be high. The only thing I bought were some custom ear plugs, and they were high. I was going to buy an Autocom but discovered it was cheaper to buy it online after paying the 8% sales tax. I enjoyed the show thought and it was great meeting everyone. Some asshats blocked me in with their sportbikes in the parking lot so I had to roll some bikes out of the way to get out.

I think 14 of us met for lunch. Company was good but the food left a little to be desired. I felt more liberal for having walked into the CNN center food court. I hope it washes off!

Don't take the CNN tour! I don't think I will ever be clean again. Jane Fonda is starting to look good. :(

Borrec,

is that why you didn't join us for lunch?

MSC and I passed a FJR (silver) and a harley on 20 west on our way back. anyone here? Also a (03/4) as we pulled out of green parking with two brothers exhaust.

The two bikes that caught my attention the most were the ZX10 from Kawi and the Buell XR12 hooligan bike.

I sat on the Victory Vision. did not care for it as the seat throws you back and you have to fight to lean forward or upright. But it was just a prototype and many mods are yet to be done before production including figuring out what engine it will get.

I didn't order any food because I ate around 1200 due to no breakfast that morning and Jim wanted to be on the road by 1400.

:)

Well, it sure was nice meeting new and old friends at the show, big thanks to jwilly for the hospitality.

I also found the show prices a bit higher than I would have liked, but got some great ideas of some things i would like to buy.

I even tried the no mar changer and I would buy it, if I were going to get one, sure made the gold wing tire a snap.

Since i have the harbor freight changer, think i follow MSC's lead and just get the sppons and bar/.

I did buy the pinlock fog shield and it worked as advertised on my rf1000. just wish i would have been awake enough to peel the film off of the clear shield so i sould use it coming home. 500+ miles in the rain, but what a fun ride, I forgot how much i loved my bike.. but it ran great, and laying on the tank with the shield down was kind of nice.

Now, to go to bike week or not is the question??? I am leaning toward making a long ride down there...
