The pic in the article is of a SuperGlideXLTLandau, so we can assume the Laser is 100mph off kilter. Sounds like reasonable doubt to me. ;)

Nah, that image is just from their library. The guy was lasered at 128mph, so it DAMN sure wasn't a Hardley.... most likely a hot sportbike, would be my guess.

Daaaaaayum, 128 mph on the Interstate in traffic... don't know why this ******** wasn't hauled away, bike impounded, etc.

Sure, I admit I am the first to rip it up over the Ton while out alone in the desert, but I take a dim view of these speeds in the presence of prevailing traffic. There are too many brain-dead cagers who can't handle their vehicles around motorcycles at posted speed limits, much less one moving at a buck-28....

Someone should have told him that I-5 between Albany and Eugene is known for being a speed trap. The freeway in this area is dead straight and its too easy to ramp the speed up. The Oregon papers like to publish these stops so I'm sure John Q. Public gets in on the act by cellphoning the cops. Its best to keep the speed within reason.

Bill

The guy who called it in said the guy was possibly racing another motorcycle. If he was racing another motorcycle, where is the other motorcycle he was racing? This is another law that was put into effect in Ca., not only going over 100 mph but doing it while racing. Carries a stiffer penalty than just speeding. And what do they consider racing, two guys jaunting up the highway, say two or more FJR's going to Reno. Sounds to me that the guy who called it in just assumed racing. Maybe it carries a stiffer penalty if racing than just speeding. I am not endorsing this kind of speed in traffic but you know we all have hit the century mark a time or two while getting to a destination. Hell, I have to travel at least 90 mph heading south on I-5 going to L.A. or i will get run over.

Highlander, Your kidding right ? Did I read that correctly ? If so you would be a prime example of the quote in blue at the bottom of FJR Pigs page.

Revenue enhancers don't impress me,,, all that schooling and training wasted to hand out speeding tixs?

128 in traffic .. yep that deserves a tix, arresting crack heads and the like, that deserves kudos B) ... revenue generation ... ummmm no !

Yer still git shut down agin? Dayem, I'za lookin' fererd to sum yer magic mash!

Concur, thought on revenue generation by LEO's, but the dark side of that, Dave, is that municipalities are realizing that limited funds for LE must be directed more toward real crimes and away from traffic enforcement. This brings **** like speed and red light cameras. The latter is more scary to me than the former.

Free speed for all FJR's!!!!!

What can I say... I try not to feed the trolls most of the time.... sometimes I just throw out extra bait though...,chummin....easier than fishin ! :D

been an Oregonian for about eight years now and have been the recipient of several of them 150 and 200 dollar fines, it's not a real pleasant feeling with them blue lights in your mirror. At 53 I finally figured out that I really don't have to be spending those kinds of dollars, not to mention the insurance that goes along with 'em!

Bottom line is: if you are crazy enough to drive your scoot that fast you should be willing to accept the consequences...

I have a hard time feeling sorry for bikers who do this kind of stuff, it gives all of us a bad rep. I only hope that the next time I let her stretch her legs a little that I will be smart enough to be able to ascertain that it is safe to do it and that the OSP is not hitting me with any of their little electronic do-dads!

The cars on the 5 which i drive on a daily basis are brushing their teeth, reading books and generally not paying any attention to what is happening around them. The stupid motorcyclist that dares to navigate this piece of hightway at 100 + deserves way more than a 1000 dollar speeding ticket, he needs to surrender his endorsement for a few years and spend a time out from a pastime that most of us respect and enjoy!

just my humble opinion :p :p :p

This brings **** like speed and red light cameras. The latter is more scary to me than the former.

Recent Traffic Safety Study in Wash DC, Toronto and Edmonton found accident rates 57% higher at Red Light Camera intersections and fatalities up by 17%. Majority of accidents from the rear when People try to panic stop on yellow lights rather than risk a ticket. Study recommended lenghtening yellow light by 1/2 a second to allow traffic to clear, NOPE.... Cuts into revenues......

So much for Traffic Safety...

What does this post have to do with FJR motorcycles. It seems like it belongs in the 'Sportbike' section or in the 'Never-Ending Pointless Recurring Threads' section under Harley bashing. Clearly it does not belong in the 'FJR Specific Discussion' section.

If you can't lane split, why bother?

CA Rocks! And most of the HP leave their radar on all the time, from what I've experienced so far.
