The law in Oregon was changed as of January 1 this year with stiffer fines, loss of license on repeat offenses, etc. I was talking to a Federal cop (VA) where I work and he said politicians saw studies that people were ignoring 100+ MPH tickets and many repeat offenders. Also taken into consideration was the fatality rates above 100mph.
Stiff fines but tends to be on major highways like I-5. Another route I guarantee a roaming LEO with radar on in his bubble gum machine is on 138 from Southerlin to Reedsport. Don't ask me how I know, but I avoided a performance award....
Thank politicians for the silver lining -- cutbacks over years have decimated the number of State troopers. Only 1 was patrolling the entire southern Oregon part of the coast route in Oregon last year. It made news in the papers. Don't know if it is true anymore.
