Hey folks, Just a heads up. I know there are a lot of other groups and clubs that have their own weekends at Deals Gap but this is the one I know about thru personal experiance.

The last weekend in July is the annual "Miatas at the Gap" weekend and usually attracts from 300 to 500 cars. Kinda makes things even more congested than normal up there. I might be there but will restrict the FJR to earlier in the week and stick to the Miata for the weekend.

Yes, besides it being just plain creepy, I NEVER want to engage Granny, topless in her Miata at Deals Gap.

:glare:

I would avoid it every weekend, mostly idiots riding way over their head, or posers. Weekdays only.

Good to know about the miata's, was thinking about heading up there around that time. Weekends are definitly rough up there, guess I'll just hold off a bit.

They are really a pretty good bunch of folks, but with that many cars in the area all at once it's bound to create some problems....not to mention the few that want to take "spriited driving" a couple steps further. Always a few like that in any group.

They can be pretty helpfull sometimes too. Once when I was cruising the N. GA mountains with the Nashville club, a couple guys on sport bikes got stuck behind us. I was last car and motioned them back and pointed out my radio. When I got the all clear from the lead car they got to pass all 20 of us on what would normally have been a blind curve. Bet it was fun for them. :yahoo:
