https://www.eatatjoesbarbecue.com/ We Arizona FJR Forum members do love to eat at Joe's Barbecue in Wikieup, Arizona!

Here is the time and departure information: We will depart from the the McDonald's Restaurant in Wickenburg at 1000 hours on a Sunday of your choosing. Here are the possible Sunday selection dates for this Ride, please speak up by March 16:

Sunday, March 22 or Sunday, April 5; Easter Sunday is out: The votes will be tallied on 3/16 and date will be set for the ride.

For those of you that need to get back home to do your afternoon chores, just head back South down Highway 93 to Phoenix

For those that want to make a 350 mile day out of it, I am going to head North to I-40 and ride Historic Old Highway 66 from Seligman to Ash Fork; then thru Chino Valley, Prescott, Dewey, Mayer and back into Phoenix. Pick up Pie in Prescott!

Hell Yes--as long as you let your northern neighbors join in the sauce slurpin. 4/5 works for me. Barry

bes: Sounds good, Barry! You're the fourth vote for 4/5 out of the seven that have sent me a response. Final Tally on 3/16!

Instead of pounding out 93 from Wickenberg, I prefer to run up 89 past Yarnell to People's Valley, take the road to Kirkland Junction and keep going west on the road to Bagdad. It dumps out onto 93 just before Bagdad but it's a far nicer ride than 93.Just a thought.

Brad
Smiling Brad: Let me get this straight! You think that you are going to stand between me and the most direct/fastest route to a pulled pork sandwich, spicy beans and garlic potatoes? We haven't seen each other for three months, so let me refresh your memory: I'm the big fat round hungry Irishman that loves to eat! NO WAY SB: EXTRA HOUR FROM MY LUNCH!!

Actually that does make the most sense for a return route from Joe's! OFFICIAL PROCLAMATION: Now is Brad's way home!!

Barry: There's been a recent surge of voting for 3/22. So, unless the ground swell subsides, the RTE will be on March 22nd.

Well, the voting is over and final: 8 for 3/22 and 5 for 4/5; so this Sunday, March 22nd we ride to Joe's in Wikieup at 10 AM!

Don't miss this: Weather will be great, the roads will be twisty, the food fantastic and SkooterG as gay as ever he ever was!

https://weather.aol.com/forecast/todays/us/...ikieup/id/85360 76 degrees arriving in Wikieup and much hotter in Phoenix.

I do believe I am going to turn Sunday's ride for BBQ into a long day in the saddle hitting the old Route 66. I haven't been on that stretch of road in over 15 years, and then it was in a cage.

Clicky for Route 66 route map.

Anybody game?

Dear Cleatus, I'll be your huckleberry. I was going to ride my GS, but if I'm your wing man I better be on Miss Lucy Liu FJR!

Not sure I want to know the answer to this with Cleatus doing whatever to Huckleberry, but what time should y'all be getting to Joes?

Barry, Main group should arrive at 1130 hours. "Whack jobs" that do not give a fat rats ass about retaining a valid Arizona Driver's License will probably arrive at 1110 hours. Latter group consists of Skoot, ROUNDEL and Crazy Davey Cooleyman!!

Damn weather!

So much for my Rte. 66 ride. Guess that's for another day. At least I'll get some yummy BBQ!

I thought them AZ riders were tough? LOL
Zonies are tough y muy malo, hombre! Barry-bes is from Las Vegas. But holy cow, was the wind ever blowing us today!!!

Wow, it was gusting 40-50 mph on Highway 93 and coming down Yarnell Grade from Hillside & Kirkland it was blowing sixty!

Twenty riders and not a single incident, even though the guys running radar got pinged a few times. Great brisket, fantastic white beans, wonderful home baked rolls and delicious mashed potatoes with bacon/onion. I Love Joe's BBQ food big time!!!
