Hi,

Back on the FJR after having 3 gut operations in 8 days and spending 2 months in hospital.

My Cronhs finally got the best of me.

I started up the bike 2 weeks after I got home, some 3 months all up and she fired straight up. :yahoo: :yahoo:

Last weekend I went for a small ride with some Aussie members, just in case I dropped the bike and for moral support. I can't lift any heavy objects for 3 months and lost 1/4 of my body weight.

I couldn't hold the old girl back, had a smile on my face ear to ear. Our good old Queensland roads are a bit rough and my scars / stomach were hurting quite a bit.

Tonight I went on a small solo night ride and loved every minute of it, its THE best medicine.

On the bike tomorrow for a longer ride.

Good for you, Ken :D

That's a dreadful disease. I've been in on lots of those surgeries; my gut aches just thinking about it.

Take care of yourself and play safe on the Feej!

Mary Ellen

Sorry to hear about the surgeries, and glad to hear about the successful two-wheeled therapy. Keep yourself safe and keep having a blast.

Great to hear you are home and throwing a leg over you bike. I can picture you riding with a big grin until you hit a bump then ouch, grin grin, ouch grin etc. Best to you!

Way to go Ken!

Cronhs is a cruel disease, glad to see you're fighting back. Would a kidney belt help?

Passed through 'The Garden City' in the seventies - I suppose the pub has a new owner by now? :D Never did acquire a taste for XXXX.

Al.

Sorry to hear about your surgeries and down time, but happy to see your positive attitude and dedication to riding your FJR.

Who knows, probably riding the FJR is the best therapy of all.

Keep up the good work and stay well.

Good one on ya Ken! Nothing like getting back in the saddle for some good therapy. I've been dealing with chronic arthritis forever and as painful as it is, nothing like a good ride to sooth the mind and soul. Never give up and stay safe and have fun. PM. ;)

Bugger,

First time ever, I have a code 30 on Bluey.

I dropped it comming into a car park at a coffee shop.

I don't know it it was a "ballance" thing or a lack of muscle tone, I'll be riding with a few mates from now on.

(I've lost 1//4 of my body weight)

It happened soo quick there was no time to react at all.

Was nearly stopped and I think I was in second and the bike stalled.

The sliders worked well, the only damage is a broken LHS mirror and a few little scratches on the LHS pannier.

The helmet visor was scratched as well.

Lucky that another bike rider, who was nearby helped my riding mate right the bike.

Hey Ken, came across your story while researching throttle adjustment on my 08. Glad to hear that your back on "Bluey". As stated previously Good Therapy. I'm assuming that a code 30 is dropping your ride at low speed/stop. If so, I did it twice within the same hour, op/error, back in Feb. I had just spent the whole day with family as my dad was having a heart valve replaced. Surgery and recovery went going well so I headed home to take a relaxing sunset ride. Had "Baby Girl" up on her center stand, when I rolled her off my right foot slipped out and down to the right she went. I mannaged to set her down without a thud so all she had were scratches on mirror, turn sig and luggage case. I should have parked her since i'd been awake 30+ hrs instead i headed to the local Starbucks for a heavy dose of espresso. As I was turning right into the parking lot going to slow and trying to find 1st on a steep incline I lost all forward momentum and down she went again. I was lucky, no broken parts, just my ego. Did get my espresso for free however. Good health and a speedy recovery. Be Good, Be Safe.
