Backoff!!

Has anyone installed the BackOFF brakelight modulator on the FJR? I've had it on other bikes and like the flashing to catch the cager's attention.

Any interference with the ABS brake system?

I would put a backoff on a seperate brakelight strip, whether on a topcase (like the Givi) or a lightbar or something like a hyperlights.

Something like this.

I can't talk to the ABS portion of your question, but I installed a 6 inch LED bar following the instructions found HERE

I like it. I wired mine to flash the LED bar 5 times then go "On" solid.

Installed the Back-Off module some time ago on my 05 ABS. I tapped into the OEM brake light circuit at the back for the Back-Off Module & then fed the brake light on a Givi Top Case & a 6" LED bar from the Back-Off Module. I'm happy with no issues.

I have the Back Off Wig-Wag on my 05 non-ABS. Installed inline wit hthe brakelights, per instructions and have had no problems at all.

I concur with the above except that I have an 05 ABS and still no problems. The BackOff WigWag does not interfere with ABS operation. This observation is based on two intentional tests and one unintentional! Just follow the instructions and hook the module up at the rear brake lights via the OEM wiring. I've had very positive comments from cagers and other two-wheelers. I highly recommend it! :agent:

I installed the XP module with a LED strip on the license plate holder. No issues except for the ugly wire dropping from the seat to the plate holder. There's ways to fix that, which I'll do soon.

Had one cager pull up beside me and tell me 'your lights are broken, they're flashing on and off' :lol:

Thanks for the replies - I have the Backoff running to both the tail lights and a LED license plate and seems to work fine - hopefully keeps the cagers from running up my tail pipes!
