I am going to get something fabricated (I wish I had the tools to do it) that will allow me to use the Corbin backrest with my custom seat that will be built on top of the stock seat pan.

This will require the seat builders to create a hole through the cover/foam of the seat and my attempt will be to utilize the strong metal tab that the stock pan hooks under. That tab has an oval slot where I think a receiver for the backrest rod could be fixed.

Anyone try this yet? If not, I'll post pics if it works.

Oh...you might wonder why. I am going to get a bill mayer seat. He doesn't have a backrest for the pillion for the FJR. I use a topcase so Garauld's backrest wont work :(

Therefore, I need to come up with something that utilizes my Corbin backrest with the stock pan (which will be used for the Bill Mayer saddle).

Someone at WFO had a car headrest converted to a pillon back rest, I don't think I got any pics of it maybe they will chime in. How is JoyfulGirls back doing?

That was FJRob - a little different application than I need, I think...hmm. He lives close, I'll go take a look.

Sherri's back was hurting her pretty bad that morning but the FJR fixed her up. Really...she started feeling better that day and is feeling good again. Her back gets mad when she stands or walks...not nice. She started physical therapy today and I hope that helps. If conservative treatment fails, she'll be under the knife like Highlander.

I sure hope she doesn't have to ! Best wishes on treatment Sherri !!

Have you seen this thread I posted? Maybe you could have "them" fab the receiver part forward more than I've shown, to accept a backrest through the seat, instead of the tail like mine ??
