I've just finished installing the BEAUTIFUL Tanji fuel cell and am looking for a comfy backrest or pad to affix in some way to the front of the fuel cell. I figure if I'm going to do some long distance touring I may as well enjoy the comforts of highway pegs and backrest.

Suggestions?

:cownoy:

Russell Day Long w/backrest? It's probably the only way you'll be comfortable for 400+ miles between fuel stops.

I have an idea for you, a while ago I was considering a drivers backrest and phoned utopia. This is the company that makes these for most bikes, they IMHO make the nicest product of this type, I have one on my wing it looks factory. Anyway they offered to design one for the FJR, their request was that I mail them my stock seat front and back and they would design the perfect backrest. Well, it's up to you now!! :D

I forgot about the Russell. I bought a Sargent as soon as they came out...thinking first of my passenger. Sargent has a passenger backrest and Russell doesn't.

Now I have the Tanji tank installed and couldn't care less about the pillion. Guess I should have gone Russell!

Divorce? Or was there no passenger in the first place? None of my business?

No, not divorced but my spouse isn't into bikes. A friend of hers at work was recently killed on a Harley and that didn't help matters.

If you know of any hot babes that like riding on bikes with a 40 something like me, the fuel cell can pop off in a heartbeat!!! ;)

That might improve her outlook on bikes..."Well, honey, since you don't ride anyway..."
