I took my saddle bags off after the first week and have left them off since then. I will use them on overnight or longer trips but I like the bagless look. I'm I alone?

I have the 07 "Black Cherry" also.

I do like the bagless look, but I use my bike everyday to commute so I leave my bags on all the time.

They only come off at bath time.

Looks great! Now all you have to do is cut the rear plastic below the license plate off for a custom look!

I'd say go bagless. It's less Black Cherry to slow you down. That color is heavy and has a lot of wind resistance.... :bleh:

I go bagless on my '05 unless I need to carry a lot of stuff. I use a Givi V46 for my laptop during the commute. The FJR not only looks better to me without the bags but it also handles better.

Titan,

Your bike looks great....I do like the bagless look.

However, it has been noted in the past threads, that you are least likely to be noticed by Leos if you have the bags on. Bikes with bags can't/don't go that fast.

All the other comments makes sense too.

07 Black Cherry also and I only put the bags on when needed. I commute daily with my bike and bagless makes it alot easier to lane share here in California.

I will admit Black Cherry is slower in this weather...

YES ITS SNOWING HERE IN NY!!!

But then again, I guess your older machines :glare: would be warmer riding than our Black Cherry version!

Will spring ever arrive???

I’m definitely bagless, cause I’m bikeless. Street-bikeless that is. Seller’s remorse :sadsmiley: has set-in.

OTOH, shopping is a bit of fun. The momentary reprieve provided by a few test-rides was altogether welcomed.

Bagless here even though I commute to work daily on it...I just use a backpack for my laptop. I figure if I tip it over, it's one less scratch I have to deal with. :)

I too usually run sans bags and use tail bag for carrying. I like the look and the better handling.; but I do agree w/ earlier comment about the LEOs curiosity. A local deputy pulled me over recently just to take a look at that "odd looking crotch rocket" and of course to remind me that it was the second time in a week that he had clocked it scooting by a little too fast  :dntknw: No way of knowing for sure, but given his initial comment, I don't think he would have been as apt to pull me over had he perceived the bike to be a tourer w/ an old fart aboard.

I have the faster 06 in Cobalt Blue, but leave the bags on all the time. I have Skyways Sliders in front, and feel the bags serve as great sliders in the rear.

When blasting back roads, like today, no bags. When really going somewhere, then with bags. I keep a mag tank bag with compressor, plug kit, rag, maps, and Honda spray polish.
