I have been riding for a 39 years. Attitudes about us has changed many times in the past.I was one of the bad bikers from the earlier times. Things were bad, society took us all as gang riders and wanted us off the road. Thats when the states started cracking down with helmet laws, restrictions on medical coverage, etc. Now that things are getting better, don't you dare sit in your chair passing judgement on others. If you like driving 50 mph in full leathers, gloves, etc. fine. I would not drive in a city with out a helment but that is me. The fact is all motorcycles are dangerous, and the accidents are a strain on all the services offered by the public (first aid, police, hospital). Should they completely ban all motorcycles? Please standup for everybodies rights. You may lose your right to ride next. I am sure that in a few months all the people that are taking away my rights, with be sreaming at their TV to kill the quarterback on Sunday. If you want to make us pass the reguirments of some European counties for purchasing big bikes, fine that makes sense. But if you are drivng along the Delaware River on a lazy afternoon with no traffic and take off helmet enjoy. That was a big fight to get that right back. We are a group and must in the end stand together.

SORRY....but I have to disagree with the most important thing you said.....Motorcycle are not dangerous....hello...motorcycles are an inanimate object....that's as wrong as saying a gun is dangerous....both totally absurd statements....& both TOTALLY WRONG!....end of rant.....

<Using often overlooked common sense here> ... You can probably assume that what he meant was "riding motorcycles is dangerous".

I'd have to agree that it's a true statement, acknowledging that "dangerous" is a relative term...everything we do is dangerous to one degree or another, and we have to balance risk vs reward with those things. Some would say that its just plain ole stupid to get on a motorcycle in traffic. I disagree. Some would say its just plain ole stupid to get on a motorcycle without a helmet. I disagree.

<end of rant> :assassin:

Okay,

Riding a motorcycle on a public road is more dangerous than not riding a motorcycle on a public road.

I am of the belief that if everyone rode a motorcycle, everyone would be driving safer. Based upon most of my observations, the motorcycle is not dangerous, it is the person in the car that has difficulty with having what they see making it to their brain.

Iggy! You made a funny! Atta boy, I thought we lost you to the Serious Side. ;)

By the way, I'm running with sissors and a loaded BB gun. Somebody stop me.

Hey, you're the one asking for the pictures, not me. But, go ahead and fly your freak flag high, bro. Be proud of what you are! ;)

Anyway, it's actually more dangerous walking than riding a motorcycle.
