Anybody else here play in a band?

Maybe we need to have a GTG and play some music. Bass player here, classic rock, blues, and as little country as we can get by with. Don't know how to get all my gear on the FJR but there has to be a way.

No so great at playing them, but I could build some instruments for you guys:

Playing guitar since about about the time the Beatles hit these shores -- should be better than I am. Haven't played in a band in about 9 years, but still have a Mackie 16 channel mixer, QSC PA amp, mics, snakes, and of course, 6 guitars, a bass, a lap steel I can't play, and 2 amps (both of which need to be fixed).

slapnpop -- that is some stunningly beautiful stuff. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Lapsed guitarist/bassist here. Played in bluegrass, folk, and rock/blues bands back in the day. Never was as good as I should have been but had a great time doing it.

Last thing I worked on was all electronica with loops (https://www.myspace.com/albert39semptybed). Hauled my guitars back upstairs recently, but no calluses at the moment, sad to say.

I play trombone, and the missus plays clarinet, sax and piano.

The company we work for has an orchstra that we're both in (kind of a community-relations group but we enjoy it) as well as a jazz ensemble. I'm aslo in a brass quintet, so if you know anyone around here looking for music for a wedding, let me know...

Slapnpop,

I rather like your Bass! Simply B. E. A. utiful!

Mainly drumkit, some electric guitar (rhythm mostly) and just getting started on the bass. Rock and roll, baby! Would love to get into some country/Americana/rootsy stuff.

Fiddle player here classical, country, bluegrass...with a little mandolin...so probably not whatcha need. :D
Mandolin eh? My daughter got married and at the reception we had a band made up of friends that I play with. An old blues classic is Hootchite Cootchie Man which I played and sang. One of the guys in the band was on Mandolin and we had got into the solo and the Mandolin player nodded for the solo, he just tore it up on that Mandolin. Never would have thought a Mandolin fit in a blues tune.

He was awesome! Mandolin welcome.
