Certifiable Old Fart
Barry and Marla, so very glad that you could attend Death Valley Daze 2010. Beartrax, those are some beautiful pictures you took there; very impressive!
Hi all, Marla and I stayed an extra day and then "cruised on back home". We did the north end of DV and Scotty's Castle, then headed to the south end of the park, finally ended up in Pahrump. Nice day but turned cool...heck it was friggin freezin Next morning we headed South on 160 in to south side of Henderson, over the Dam and down 93 home. Clear and cold all the way.
Must say thanks to Skooter and Brian (the outlaw) for sharing a wee dram of fuel with us. A bit of miscue on my part and just couldn't stretch the last mile or so to Aramagosa Valley for fuel..Ah but saved by Brian and BB, popped the GS tank off and gave us a drink..all was well.
We were all set to camp, but when the NPS called and told us our campsite(#28) was flooded and it was still raining fri. am so we added ourselves to the Longstreet hotel gang. Thanks to Don for setting this up! Great price and a pleasure to meet all the FJR folks. Cool group and a good time was had by all. Sat morning Enrique, Marla and I missed the main group as we were mesmerized by the sight of a group pushing, yes I said pushing an FJR back and forth across the parking lot By the time we recovered the group had gotten away but we had a great day of riding ...
