First off, I am by no means the best mechanic. I was wondering how many people would be interested in meeting to have some great food, drinks, share stories and help each other work on bikes? Here is what I was thinking.

Time: It's starting to get cold, so riding might be out for some. I was thinking November 8th. If the weather is nice, we could all go for a ride on Sunday.

1. Food: I will provide 2 to 3 barbecued tri-tips (seasoned with my favorite seasoning) and a potato side. I figure perhaps other local folks could bring over some kind of side or dessert.

2. Drinks: I have my favorite on hand (Corona with lemons) :) Of course I have pop and water. The rest could be a BYOB.

3. Location (I live in West Richland): I can provide my garage (3 car and can heat it if needed)

4. Tools: I only have the basics for my fjr. (Perhaps Dale or Matt could bring over things that might be needed). A fellow FJR friend of mine Chuck has some nice tools and he could bring his also.

5. If you want I can put up to 6 guys in my trailer (its a bunk model, so 2 on bottom bunk, 1 on dinette area, 1 on couch and 1 in queen bed room). If you don't mind to snuggle, I could put up more. :) Seriously, if you want to drink... don't hesitate to spend the night.

6. Basically, I want to just hangout and have a fun afternoon and evening.

Topics I'd love to talk about.

a) Utah 1088 (I'd like to make this my first saddle sore 1000 and see who all are going)

B) Equipment needed to do more LD rides

c) Farkles and more Farkles

7. Tech. things I plan on doing.

a) change battery and direct connect my radar and iPhone

B) "blowjob" flush my system

c) Would like to learn all the proper areas that need annual lubrication (don't make fun of the wording) :)

d) air filter cleaning

e) change oil and filter (open to hear what kind and weight you all run in the winter)

f) anything else you all suggest while my side fairings are off

So, if there is enough interest in setting this up please let me know.

Dave

PS: Dale and Matt, it would be great if you guys could make it over. I already appreciate all the help you've given me Dale.

Well, if more are not interested I still plan on doing the above listed maintenance. My Westco battery should be here by Friday or early next week. I'm going to go this weekend and pick up all the necessary parts.

I'll keep you posted on how this all works out (if more want to join in). Like I said, I'm also in the learning part of doing my own Farkles. With the help of this site and many others I have gotten more and more comfortable with doing certain things on my FJR.

Worse case scenario, we can hangout and drink and eat some good food. :)

Duster,

If the weather is anywhere remotely decent I'm in. I have to admit I'm mostly interested in the tri tips and less on maintenance. I do want to talk about farkles and installations.

Let me know what I can bring.

Dave,

It might be pushing it to head over there in two weeks, but I would love to learn how to do some more things on my FJR, like a TBS? I will watch the weather and see what happens.

Here is the update:

It's on for this Saturday (Nov. 8th) starting at 1:00. As far as I know the following people will be coming : Matt (Ignacio) and myself.

Kevin (blk_hole_2), Dan (Dang), Brian (Wingnut) and my fjr friend Chuck might be coming over.

I'll also have the garaged set up to watch sports for those that don't want to miss their favorite college game.

PM me and I'll give you my address and phone number.

Looking forward to seeing all that show up.

Dave

Just want to say thanks to Matt (Ignacio) for coming over today and helping out. It was nice to meet you blk_hole_2.

I'd have no problem doing another when the weather gets better. That way we can go and ride afterwards.

Thanks again for coming over,

Dave
