Just passing along from a local forum.I don't have any personal experience and just ordered one myself. I have met quite a few people that really love them.

Promo code HOL25 good through the end of the year for 25% off. https://www.beadrider.com/

I'm one of the boosters of these things. Done about the last 120,000 miles on the same one (on two FJRs), which proves I like it a lot, and that it's super durable. This last summer I went into a fishing supply store for a spool of heavy line (IDK how many pounds test--I just tried to match what was there) to string some of the beads back together. They'd finally started to separate, but the surgery gave it a new lease on life. Thinking it may be time to replace though, at a good discount.

I first put mine on at the beginning of a long ride, and wasn't sure about it till about day four, so if you try one, you have to give it a chance. I'd say it cuts down on heat "under you," and perspiration too. I like the happy little massage it gives you as you move on the seat. If you move over for the sharper curves, it lets you slide very easily and comfortably. Keeps you from sitting in a puddle coming back to the bike in the rain, too. By the way, I suggest the "standard" size, at $37.95 (minus the discount) for the front seat. It's plenty large enough. This would be a contender for "favorite farkel," at least for the price, on the thread of that name, for me.

Thanks for posting the link, bseelbach.

I called bead rider earlier this year. They said it was 50lb line and to buy it at Walmart. So I fixed mine as well.

+1 for an excellent farkle. I bought one last year and instantly loved it.

They allow you to slide around easily on the saddle (to keep the blood circulating on long rides), and avoid "hot spots" on your sit bones.

I always ride with mine on the stock seat. This summer the bike was on a BC Ferry and a couple were admiring the line of bikes in the front of the boat. She stops at mine and says "looks like some animal pooped on the seat of this one" LOL.....

I was asked where my taxi medallion was.
