I figure I should throw out a plug for "Beemers & More" here in Fort Collins. They're an indie BMW, Aprilia, Vespa and Piaggio shop - mostly ex-mechanics from the BMW/Ducati dealer down in Loveland.
My FJR got a flat on the way to work earlier this week (a nice, big inch-long gash through the meat of a tread - no patching that one) so I needed to get a new set of tires ASAP since the Feej is my only transportation for a while.
I called up Beemers & More since they're about equidistant from the Yamaha dealer (whose rates I'm not real thrilled with) and because they really did some good work for me when I had to get the carbs rebuilt on my BMW F650 that lived in the garage before the FJR.
Had their trailer not been in the shop for tires of its own, they'd have rolled out for a complimentary pick-up, but sadly I had to mooch a trailer ride from a dirt-bike guy at work.
Anyway. They pulled a set of PR2s of the shelf for what I considered to be an insanely competitive price - only $20 more for the set than I'd have paid getting them from SWMotoTires! I dropped it off around 12:30p and they had it back to me by 3:30 - I figure that's not doing too bad for a no-notice, no-appointment tire change. Mounting & balancing ran about $50 a wheel which is about average for the area if you just drop a bike in their work bay.
So, if you're ever in need of some quick service, I'd recommend giving them a call.
