I've ridden Harleys for years and while I think they are nice bikes I have to admit that for build quality, ride quality and just plain value they don't stack up to the FJR.
Two weeks ago I was talking to a friend and I was telling him that I was looking for a new bike and wanted something that offered comfort and style and that I was thinking of a V-Rod. After a few days of conversation he convinced me to look at that FJR. I decided to bite the bullet and purchased one hoping that I would not be wasting my money.
I have never cared for the water cooled foreign bikes. I never owned one simply because I thought they were cheaply made, undependable and had poor ride quality, but now I know that is not the truth!
My new FJR is so responsive, handles well and is very comfortable. I took a one way 120 mile trip and felt very good after the ride and was very surprised since many on this board complained about the seat. I also have to admit that not having to listen to the roar of loud pipes made the ride a bit more enjoyable.
I still have my Harleys and I am not sure if I will sell them but now that I have experienced both sides I can honestly say that I think Harleys are great bikes but for the money I don't think you can get a better all around bike than the FJR.
