I still have my Harleys and I am not sure if I will sell them but now that I have experienced both sides I can honestly say that I think Harleys are great bikes but for the money I don't think you can get a better all around bike than the FJR.

Well. That's not something you read every day around here. So thanks for the post.

I hope your experience is like mine, where almost every time I rode my '05, I found myself marveling at how much I liked the bike. These feelings persisted over the life of the bike. FJRs are so much fun. Enjoy, and, hey howdie.

hate to break this to you but there are NO leather fringe accessories for the FJR.
Other than that - welcome to the fold.

I am a long time Harley and Indian rider that picked up my '05 FJR last May 30th ,, and now have 15,000 miles on and very few on my other bikes ,, I have added a few extras on but the main thing is that ,, I just love this bike ,, I am sure you will also ,, :yahoo:

Glad to have you aboard Spridal. I did the cruiser thing for a couple of years before discovering the FJR. And have never looked back -- it really is a totally different ride and riding experience. Luckily I never spent too much on the "leather farkles" -- did get some leather chaps, and occassionally wear them (and nothing else.... ) and greet my wife coming in the front door at nite. Last time I tried that move, to my surprise (and there's...) it was not my wife - rather my next door neighbor :huh: . Wife then made me get rid of them. Cheers! Jay

I have also ridden Harleys. My Dad had a shovel that was chrome from tip to tip. Beautiful machine to look at.

My FJR is the most fun I have had since my Kawasaki 750, way back when! I'm a used-to-be BMW, used-to-be Honda GW rider too.

Cherish what you used to be, because you will never go back. After you've had steak, hamburger just doesn't cut it!

I am currently down to two licensed bikes out of my 16. The other one with a license is my '04 modified 1200R Sportster. Now that's quite a pair! Both are loads of fun in their own ways, and I think both are keepers.....DFO

I have been riding a haley lower rider for twenty years. Done everything under the sun to it. Got my 2006 fjr last week and have put 1,100 miles on it, great bike but will still will enjoy riding the harley too. Apples and oranges it's great to be able to have both.Life is good.

welcome to the board you should have a blast on the yamaha . My problem was the cash i was looking at the road glide 18k , and went with the yamaha ,matter of fact never thought i would ever buy a yama product it really is a great bike the only down side is the paint which sucks big time and i really dont like the look of the bike at all . no i purchased the bike for all the other reasons . Again i would like to thank all the members .this forum really had all the info i needed to purchase the 05 which now has 11k on it the most miles i have ever put on a bike in 1 year .

Funny that is the first thing that turned me on about the bike. As far as the paint, I am used to custom painting on my Harley's and will more than likely paint my FJ.
