I'm shopping for GPS to put on my new 2014ES, does anybody have any recommendations or suggestions ? i am looking at Garmin Zumo 660LM/665LM models.....

Does it fit properly on handlebars ? does it interfere with instrument visibility ?

Thanks for your input.....

I've got a 660 mounted to my right handlebar. I like it better there than between the handlebars. I can see the instruments ok.

Plenty of opinions on what is best. Google search the following text no need for another thread, GPS FJRforum.com

Best oil

Best tires

Best Color

Best lights

See what I mean,

Good luck,

Dave

I have a Zumo 550 on a 6inch ram arm on a Rambone mount to clear my tank bag. It obscures the bottom of the speedo, but since the GPS displays (the correct) speed then it is not an issue.

I tried the Yamaha mount, but couldn't get it high enough to clear the tank bag.

Hard to believe a topic like this got moved to NEPRT.

Does it interfere with instrument visibility? Well that depends on several things.

1. Where it is mounted.

2. How tall is the rider.

3. Bar Risers/Bridge.

4. Angle of bars on bridge.

5. Custom Seat?

6. Type of mount.

7. Angle of ram ball mount.

There are more factors but you get the picture. I had the 660 mounted on the clutch reservoir clamp for years and liked it fine. Then it got moved to the ram ball mount on the new Heli-Bar Bridge and it seems to be better. There are just too many options and variables to cover.

Hell Redfish, there were two or three threads on this same topic last week.

And the week before that, and the week before that... However I am trying to be a kinder gentler person so I confined myself to the one sarcastic comment and then tried to give a useful answer.

It would be amazing to find what a Google search would turn up. But I am just too lazy to do one...
