As a cylist and some experience with riding a fixed gear. That is WAY COOL! If you can't be smart you'd better be tough.

You see, I watch that, and it actually pisses me off the same way watching idiot stunt riders on motorcycles doing their stupid **** on public roadways does.

When did it become ok in this country to adopt the attitude of, "As long as it is good for me, that's all that matters and to hell with everyone else"?

I see the legitimate bicycle community here trying to win favor with the community about equal usage of roads, and shitheads like that (or more locally, the ZooBombers) who have absolutely NO respect for ANYONE else that happens to be on the road destroy that effort.

Maybe I'm just naive in believing that society is supposed to have common decency rules that everyone is supposed to follow. There is no evidence of that in this video.

Exactly; what 'pony' said (and unfortunately this is just an example of the total disregard for others). Call me old fashioned, but I still try to hold to the "Golden Rule".

WOW!

That was cool, I would have to say that , their speed was sometihng else, but also seemed in control....

It aslso appears that even to someone like myself who does not see this everyday, it still appears that everyone is looking out for them and pausing thus giving them the right of way.....

i see nothing wrong with it since it is an accepted practive in a big city, kind of reminds me of lane sharing videos from out west on a motor bike....

except nothing quite that radical going on i hope or at least what is posted that i have seen to date....

I wonder how long I would last if I road up there and tried that!!!!! can you say splat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dribble:

Um, no they didn't. The first pedestrian (little old lady maybe?) not paying attention would get creamed.

Um, they don't have the right of way, they are just bullying the pedestrians to move.

If was one of those pedestrians, I doubt very much I would move out of their way, come what may. A well placed drumstick in one of those :asshat2: wheels would have been very satifying to see in that video. :laughingsmiley:

+2 Pony...

As a cyclist that is just wrong, we have enough trouble out on the road with crap like that taking place. When I started road racing in the 80's in Colorado, there were lots of road races. Now there are basicaly none and many cagers hates cyclist even more than they did 20 years ago.

As for the messengers, most use wistles or yell at the pedestrians to get them to move. When they dont move they scream at them.

Is their plan to stay young, fit and strong for the rest of their lives? It's a great workout, and with so little respect for road conditions they will all be dead before they get old.

It's one thing for a bicyclist to gamble with cars, tour buses etc, but I have real issues with the way they cut between pedestrians on marked crosswalks. Sure, you can take a risk with those who are bigger and stronger than you are, but it's not fair to risk others.

Kinda of makes riding fast in the twisties seem tame! Even though it didnt show it, I feel quite sure that more than one of those guys has gotten what hes earned from riding like that.

It is definitely risky business, one of the more dangerous jobs in the city. You also have to remember that these guys get paid $3.50 per delivery: nytimes.

I doubt they give a rat's ass about public appearance, it's how they make a living, and not a good one. They get deliveries based on how fast their last one was, not a job with long time security built in.
