Hey Guys!,

Need help with this one, I'm in the market for a bike lift.

This one;

Kendon sport bike lift - I saw this at the IMS show last year, I

have a one car garage and not much room so this looked like the one.

I contacted the ebay seller and he's moving these out with no shipping

charges (if you have a business address). Problem is it holds up to

600lb. I called told them the FJR is around 630lb,

he said it would be OK.

Now I found Harbor Freight is moving there 1k lift for around the same

moneys as above.

Anyone have experience with either one?

The Kendon stands up and seem's to have a narrower plateform.

It's also a foot pump, no compressor needed.

I've read decent things about the HF, for what I would be using it

for, pulling carbs on the old bike, oil changes, tire changes, FARKLES!...

I have the sam's club lift but that get's awkward and balance's in the middle of the bike.

Can't stand being on the floor working on the bikes anymore...

Thanks guys!

from the harbor freight description, it looks like that lift is foot operated too, with an option for air power.

That was another odd thing, in the add it says

"The Sport Bike Lift can fit a bike up to 77" long (measured from the front of the front tire to the center of the rear axle)."

I measured the FJR and it came in around, 70"... I can't believe the bike is that much shorter then a sport bike...

In comparison I measured my 86 FJ1200 at around 73".

I have the Harbor Freight lift. Lifts the FJR just fine. Not as steady in any position than full up as a true scissor lift (nor as pricey). Clamp has to be moved to lift my other bike(1200 Bandit) to maintian balance point of lift. I can move lift around with a bike on it in the DOWN position, just have to be very careful as the balance point shifts forward on the base. Plate comes out for rear wheel work (big plus). For the price it is real hard to beat.

Until it collapses under the weight; you make a claim and they say it was overloaded :angry2: The tech will never admit to that statement.
