Are we really going to be able to put somewhere near 300 bikes in the shade and be able to move any of them in and out anytime someone wants to leave or show up? I can't imagine that much room.

You should see what happens when I try to comprehend the size of the universe. Bad things, man. Bad things.

Guess it kinda sorta depends on the area's shape, and how well organized the WFO gang is. I see 20,000 Hardley riders line bikes up and down both side of a street and come and go as they please... one would think with a little forethought, 300 of us should be able to get in and out of a smaller space.

Huh? Not to worry, MadMike's shadow will easily cover 300 bikes. Oh, you're worried about moving bikes... One word, 'Dominos', and your out! ;)

I'll betcha the leaders of this crusade have BTDT. You could think "Herringbone" with lanes in between. And we want to thank the NorCal riders in advance for volunteering to park their covered bikes in the sun........ :D (Just kidding)

Only the Shadow knows what will happen.

MM2...what will it cost to avoid the domino's effect?....I'd like to ride my bike home afterwards.... ;)

I read the post this morning and that is eactly what I was thinking....'cept, IIRC, it was vector. Hmmmm, I wonder how much "drama" that would create?

Here is a picture of the covered parking area.

Choosing one of the small cars to represent 2 FJRs-worth of parking, and tiling that small car all over the parking area, I estimate no more than 112 bikes under that pavillion.

With over 300 bikes on the way, I've got just one word (please note the time):

DIBS!

There is a two hour time limit to park in and under any shade section or a $20.00 dollar fine

1.) 300 people, not bikes...and some of those are duplicates or cancellations

2.) I'm guessing 100-125 in the center, not counting the wings, and depending on where the vendors are set-up.

3.) Yes, that is the covered pavillion the tour busses use to drop off their riders, so there are multiple ramps/sloped curbing.

4.) We aren't going to know for sure until we get there and line everything out, BUT this is what we've been given. Anyone who doesn't like this arrangement can certainly opt for the main parking lot.

5.) I've only been to 4 of these events and this is the first time we've had anything close to covered parking (including rain, dew, fog, etc.), that's why I always travel with a cover for my bike.

6.) Yep, it sucks we don't have the indoor parking...reality bites...we'll deal with it the best we can. At least we will have a semi-private parking area rather than the motel parking lot @ WFO-1 & 2 (For those who remember Santa Rosa---Geez we were amazed at seeing 27 FJRs in one place!), and more control than WFO-3 in Moscow (Where all those silver bikes looked like a school of sardines!).

7.) I thought I'd read that most owners will be out "riding", so the question of shaded parking might be a moot point for them ('Specially them "Big Dog" riders doing Hwy 108 and Hwy 4 :dribble: ).

:p :p :p

Two things there TC-

1) Think less, ride more.

2) Don't park next to vectervp1.
