This was on an ST1100 but I thought you guys might like to see some of the pics.
We went up the east coast and as far north as we could get even getting the ferry over to Orkney for a day. We came back down the side of Loch Ness (saw several monsters) and then through central Scotland via Sterling. We have been told since that he best scenery is on the far west coast but it is plagued by flies for much of the summer.
Loch Ness
Typical scenery
Royal Yacht Britania now permenantly moored at Edinburgh
Engine room clean enough to eat from
Edinburgh castle
Street performers at the Edinburgh festival
We got the ferry over to Orkney
(NOT sea sick...she says)
Inside a chapel built by Italian prisoners in WWII
These tiles were painted on, you had to go right up to them to see that they were not real
John'o'groats Not quite the most Northerly point but the most famous Northern tip of Scotland
Caledonian canal
Forth road and train bridges
The Wallace memorial near Stirling
Stirling as seen from the monument
Gretna Green This is a place famous in the UK for runaway couples to get married at. It is just over the border and the tales date back to when you could just turn up anywhere in Scotland and get married, but not in England. It is now a tourist spot and is still a venue for people to get married at.
