This was on an ST1100 but I thought you guys might like to see some of the pics.

We went up the east coast and as far north as we could get even getting the ferry over to Orkney for a day. We came back down the side of Loch Ness (saw several monsters) and then through central Scotland via Sterling. We have been told since that he best scenery is on the far west coast but it is plagued by flies for much of the summer.

Gretna Green This is a place famous in the UK for runaway couples to get married at. It is just over the border and the tales date back to when you could just turn up anywhere in Scotland and get married, but not in England. It is now a tourist spot and is still a venue for people to get married at.

Nice pic's. I wish I could see Scotland. I'd probably feel right at home. I'm told my ancestors were run out of there some years ago.

The apple, as they say, doesn't fall far from the tree.

Thanks for the trip report! Lorie and I and the kids went there for a second time in 96. I'm actually related to Field Marshall Haig from WWI and his son lives in the family castle near Melrose (S. of Edinburgh). Had a great tour of the castle and about a pint glass of Haig and Haig Pinch! The more George poured the wider Lorie's eyes got. We also saw Loch Ness, Isle of Sky, Dundee, and Inverness. Wonderful trip (in a car) and I'd love to go back on the bike. Great ale. Thanks again.
