well after some hassle with Mission Motorsports in Irvine I went up to LA Yamaha up picked her up this after noon.

Initial thoughts.....

1 your guys on 08's who think they are hot never rode an 05.

2 a new clutch is a stiff clutch.

3 The seat well thats a trip to Bill Mayer for sure.

4 I think i like the windshield (but don't quote me on it).

5 someone at yamaha doesn't know how to torque the steering head bearing.

6 I love the dash.

7 ABS brakes ROCK.

Thats after 20 miles.

Will post pics later.

You *******!!!!

I can't wait to ride it! (Grand Canyon trip is coming up)

So, when you slam on rear brake only, can you ever feel the pulsing through the pedal? I, too have been impressed with GenII ABS brakes.

Grats Richard! I hope you enjoy your new FJR as much as I enjoy my old one B)

I have not jumped on them yet but they feel great. they fell even better now i put my black Pazzo levers on .

R Congrats on the bike, I think you got the one I almost bought. I got home from vacation Thursday and there was a message on the machine from Kevin at Mission saying to give him a call, they had a FJR. I called and he went to check and it was just sold. I did luck out today and found one at Champion in Costa Mesa. I have been on it all day. What a blast. I will have to check out the forum for recommend farkles. Risers, seat, etc. See you on the road.

I picked up my '08 yesterday-unless something happens down the road, you are right-my '05 would bury this '08-but I have to say my '05 seemed to "come alive" after 20,000-but I had made some airbox mods and Two Brothers slip-ons which certainly added some ponies.

An omen? an '08 brought home on 8/8/08? In the rain!

I didn't get it from Mission in the end, the bike that they had was scratched and they took too long to fix it. I got it from LA Yamaha in Marina Del Rey (by far the cheapest place in LA)

You are right Mike the scary thing is, What took 2 gays to remove from the 05 will take weeks to put on the 08....

Oh well not like i have to go to work, so i have plenty of time between rounds of golf. :D

What are the chances ANYONE would let Greg ride there new bike????????????????

That weekend we have a big bear ride here and i also have my wife's 5 year school reunion that saturday as well (25th really but who's counting) so would be able to make it.

I may let him ride it if he shows up in Laughlin.
