Well, Best Buy is also in the deep ****, with sales at their lowest ever, and, IIRC, them posting losses for the third quarter for the first time ever.

Best Buy guided sales down for 2009 in the 5-15% range. Their sales will be back to where they were in 2003. Ouch! 2003 sales...2009 infrastructure...The House of Pain!

More Black Friday information HERE. I subscribed to the site and receive daily updates on some pretty great deals. Many retailers are offering deals NOW because Black Friday is so late this year.....and the economy is kicking their retail *****.

The auto email updates are pretty handy.

I remember my old days in retail when Blk. Friday deals in the toy sector were just getting to the point of ridiculous (1997) and we used to get our Blk Friday ads ~1 week before hand wrapped in super secrte black wrap to be staged in the security cages with the video games. We lost our A$$ for 3 hrs every Blk. friday on margin and the decision was made in 2000 to ratchet it back because of the huge losses. I cant disclose what the average loss was per store but it was staggering and I am not sure it really did anything for us in terms of foot traffic. As soon an the advertised items were raided it was dead quiet.

It was pretty exciting though picking the newbie to open the front door and face the onslaught. The look in his/her eyes was priceless. They looked like a zebra trying to cross the Masai river surrounded by crocodiles.
