I bought a My-tee kit for the fluid changes and they had an adapter perfect for blowing out the coolant in lieu of a tube and lungs. Keep the pressure low just to be safe - about 20lbs?

I wouldn't. You can't regulate the blow gun accurately via the trigger, and a misstep would cost you a radiator, piping, or worse. If you do hook up a regulator, 10lb max.

Good idea, but I agree with the Rad on this one. (God, I hate when I do that! :p )

Also, have you given your FJR a ******** yet? :D

IIRC, when I did it, it was kind of difficult accessing the radiator cap. Yo needed a flexible hose to get access. I think with your set-up, you would have to remove the upper left fairing panel, which would add a whole nother level of PITA to the act.

I think the rubber seal is soft enough to flex in case of blockage. The adaptor sets nicely on the bottom of the radiator cap seal ledge.

OK - 10 lbs if you prefer, but I had no problems at 20lbs. There was no back pressure - it just spits the fluids out of the drain hole.

The outside fairing has plenty of give, but I had the lower off already - so PITA may be correct.

It's inevitable, don't fight the force Darth Skooter.... :D

Actually, taking off the fairing sides isn't that bad, IMHO. Once you've got the procedure down, it can be done quickly, and the easier access makes it worthwhile. Since you have air, you can then back blow the rad fins and clean it up good, always a good part of a cooling system service.

Edit-I see you did it anyway. If so, why ask? Since the system uses a what, 12 lb cap, what makes you think 20 is a good idea? Cuz it's a round number? It amazes me what some people will do for no reason other than it might have seemed a good idea at the time-advice be damned.

Yea, you can just see all us guys wondering who's gonna be the first to make "the comment". :haha:

Thanks, fjrchik, for the vision of radman with a little angel radman on one shoulder, and a little devil radman on the other shoulder, beating the crap out of each other. :D
