I went to the local BMW dealer yesterday and looked at a 2011 R1200RT. Cruise control, heated grips, heated seat, radio and electronic suspension control. It's a very nice touring bike although a bit expensive.

A bit expensive?

I would say ***A LOT*** expensive. It is a nice bike, no doubt. But for me, doesn't scratch the itch as well as the FJR does. (For a hell of a lot cheaper)

I agree with SkooterG on this one. I also originally was shopping for a Beemer when I got the FJR but the local BMW dealer was the pits and the bike was far too expensive. For the price difference I can put a fair number of tires on the FJR.

I still have an itch for an Adventure bike and am thinking 690 KTM Adventure.

Austria, the true Fatherland!!

I agree the FJR is a GREAT bike. I use it as a daily commuter and LD bike. I wish the RT were about 3K cheaper!
