Bow Tie Shuts Down - Bow Tie Inc., best known as the parent for Motorcycle Consumer News and David Hough's popular Street Strategies books has closed up shop and transferred their assets to a new company called I-5 Publishing. No word yet on what will happen with MCN or if new inventory will be produced on Hough's books.

OH NO, say it ain't so! MCN is the only magazine that would give a truly unbiased bike review. No ads from the mfg's so they didn't owe them anything. But i'm sure this contributed to their financial troubles. Like escapefjrtist, I hope MCN finds a way to continue.

Don, take a look at the Woodinville area...it's in the HIGH RENT district -- nothing but the best for our senior members!

My curent subscription is still good to 2014. It was a couple of years ago that the discount renewals at the IMCs were cut back to a max of 2 years (instead of previous 3 and 4 year options). Maybe that was a hint of things to come. Sure hope their new owner keeps things rolling. Odd that it happened so quickly after going to color.

I was going to renew at the IMS but I was good till 2014 and thought I would wait, I hope they continue to print.

Bow Tie's not been on the MCNews credit sheet for a few months now. The transition was so seamless that no one even noticed until after this recent anouncement. Hough's book may be picked up by Whitehorse Press or remain with the new owners. That's yet to be seen.
