Totally accidental, and not really a "shot" at all. Having played quarterback and had more or less the same injury, I can tell you that it happens all the time: you step into a throw and someone falls through the side of your knee. It didn't look that bad when it happened, but I'm sure it was serious.

It didn't look like a cheap shot to me. If you watch the replay, at the same time the defender hits Brady an offensive player lands on him. It appears they were both working hard to do their jobs. Things unfold very quickly you can't change forward momentum in an instant. Brady stepped up as the defender was fighting to get to him. It looks that simple to me.

Of course you have to take my sentiments with a grain of salt. I am a Colts fan (yes even after Sunday) and I have little affection for Brady. Though if it looked like a cheap shot to me I would say so.

No one wants to really see a player hurt like this even arch rivals.

Game-wide good will? I would like to inject some serious doubt.

...comin' from NY, Tom's sore ankle prior to the SB resulted in much optimism from Giants fans here last January. Their dream came true, now all we hear about is Eli the NY "miracle". :puke:

For a bears fan (me) it was a good sunday!!!
Gotta hand it to the Bears they got the job done! Whatever excuses the Colts want to serve up they just got beat! Love my Colts and they have time to get it together.

I watched the replay over and over in the last couple of days of Brady getting hit and really don't think it was an intentional dirty hit. As far as a sore ankle before the Super Bowl, I don't buy it! Many other players have to play hurt. Think of running backs, tight ends and linemen. Quarterbacks are one of the most protected players in the game outside of kickers. They have to step up and be tough as well. No excuses for sore ankles etc. Especially with what they are paid to perform. Now torn ligaments get any player a pass.
