Ride in this morning was refreshing, 59F, over night low for Friday is forecast for :cold: , 49F,

Better find my touque for CFR.

Chris

The weather has been different on the 'wet' coast too this summer. We have had record rainy days in July and August is not shaping up much better. The periods of sunny have been too hot....no happy medium. Sunday I rode up to Gold River (one of my favourite rides) The weather was rain showers with dry spots...repetatively. The point to this amble is coming back down I realised that my hands were cold and turned on the grips....WTF this is the middle of August?

Ahhhh....I love this time of season. U.S. folks oblivious to our cool-evening friends in the North. While we're still beating dead horses about how the FJR is hot and how the heat generated should land a Yamaha engineer in prison.......Canuckians are quietly starting to move their vents to the "other" position for the season to come.

It's foreshadowing of threads to come from us latitude challenged Yanks.

Thanks Great White North! A small nostalgic tear is forming in my eye.

Get me one, will ya? One wid de FJR logo on it. :clapping: :clapping:

It's gonna be freezing up der in de Great White North. :)

Hmmm... I'm headed that way next weekend, I best pack a set of thermals :cold:

My local forecast is for fire, changing to increased fire followed by smoke in the afternoon... Zaca Fire is a big'un and won't be contained for at least another month. Friday, I swear the ground was covered in snow, but it was ash. Started by a hired welder on a private property - they are screwed as this fire has cost 70 million so far...

CDF Fire Incident linky.

Yeah, well, on a recent camping outing the overnight low was a bone-chilling 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26.6 centrigrade) in FL. With the heat index, it was 84/28.8. The heat bathing my legs on the way home felt goooood since it made the rest of me feel comparatively cool.

The temperature on Hwy 35 coming into Park City the fun way, plunged from 100+ in Eastern Utah to 52F in the pass. As it was raining at the time, Sylvia about froze! She took a 1 hour hot shower as soon as we checked into the Marriott. Good to travel with a full range of PPE when touring in the mountains - even in the Summer...

As it was raining at the time,
Dave that wasn't rain. I am not sure what one calls that but there is 'raining' and there is 'opening the sky faucet'! Damn the back of my eyeballs were wet!!

Oh and by the way it is quite warm and toasty here in Bermuda.

hmmmmm I suppose there are more options to being comfy when it's cold than comfy when it's hot. Nope my FJR definately doesn't have a heat problem a good part of the year. :yahoo:

BTW any of you 'southerners' interested in a group buy on the refrigerated grips I'm about to invent? heh heh

I'll trade ya

9th day in a row over 100. Hell its 7pm right now and still 100. its running about 82 at 1 am. I think the high today was 106. and I was in it all day pounding posts through asphalt. I had to quit early as my forearms had locked up on me and I didn't think I would be able to drive home if I stayed any longer.

Forecast for Thurs is the same 103 I think.

Come south if its too cool for ya

104 today. Motoport Kevlar Mesh is the best I've ridden in high heat. Ultra Trek 1 piece. keeps you cooler than anything I've riden. period.
