Saw something on fb about Brunos being closed so I had to confirm this today on a ride through Grelach. Man I have awesome memories of dirt bikes, the Black Rock desert and Bruno's Country Club / motel in the evening. Also great place to stop in for grub while on street rides.

A rumor on fb said his grandson will take over, let's hope so.

Bruno's empire has been up for sale several times in the past. I suspect he has been wanting to retire to his chateau for his golden years.

He's past his golden years now, I saw him last year sleeping in a chair in the bar under a blanket. I suspect he is close or into his 90's .

Once a year burning man just isn't enough to keep the town alive. It's sad seeing Empire (the sheet rock plant closed years ago) and Grelach dry up but that's what seems to be going on. Let's hope someone can keep it alive, we need a food, fuel and motel in Gerlach.
