I also rode my first ride of the year on 1/27/12. The temps soared up to the high thirties, so I got out the Man-strom and grabbed a couple of photo tags in the ADVriders NH TagORama.
No bugs were harmed, but I did get to navigate a little ice and there was some nasty road spray if I followed any cars too closely. Burned up a full tank and bopped around for about 4-5 hours. All made possible by heated gear.
